Jewelry Care
To help preserve the beauty and longevity of your jewelry, a little care goes a long way! No matter what it’s made of, there’s really no such thing as indestructible jewelry. Like your favorite cashmere sweater, treat it with care and it will love you back for years to come.
Make your jewelry the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off.
Avoid prolonged or repeated exposure to lotions, perfumes, hairsprays, chlorine, salt water, and other harsh chemicals. We also recommend removing your jewelry before showering, swimming, exercising, or sleeping.
Store your jewelry in the pouch provided when not being worn. This helps protect it from scratches, limits exposure to air and moisture, and preserves the brilliance of metal finishes and the natural beauty of gemstones.
Pearls and softer or porous gemstones such as turquoise, opals, lapis lazuli, emeralds, and moonstone require a little extra care. Avoid conventional jewelry cleaners, chemicals, and acidic products. Gently clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
Sterling silver naturally develops tarnish over time. Store it in its protective pouch when not being worn and gently polish with a soft silver polishing cloth as needed. Take extra care when polishing pieces containing gemstones.
Many jewelry pieces can be gently cleaned with lukewarm water and a tiny amount of mild dish soap, then rinsed and thoroughly dried with a soft cloth. Avoid soaking delicate or porous gemstones. When in doubt, a soft damp cloth is the safest choice.
