Heir Apparent is the culmination of a creative journey that began long before the first piece of jewelry was made. Founder and designer Julie Vanderhorn is a born artist who grew up with a love of fashion and an instinct for creating. A career spanning visual design, art direction, food writing and the culinary arts followed, each shaping an appreciation for composition, detail, and the art of bringing individual elements together.

In late 2019, a fascination with statement hair accessories inspired Julie to begin designing her own, and an exploration of beads, stones and embellishments quickly evolved into jewelry. What began organically became the creative focus, followed by years of designing, experimenting and refining a distinctive point of view.

Julie created Heir Apparent with a simple goal: to create beautiful, quality jewelry that feels special and personal while remaining accessible.
